Quick Easter Cards

Quick Easter Cards

I am in Canada this week on Spring Break! It’s been a fun relaxing time. My mother-in-law likes to make cards when I visit, so we decided to make some Easter cards. These cards were pretty quick because of the paper we used. We used two papers from Authentique’s Promise Collection,     and used Pebbles Basics peony chevron paper.   We decided to make each card a little bit differently!                 Hope you have a HAPPY...

Miss You Cards

Miss You Cards

This past week was bitter sweet! My Winter Semester at BYU-I ended, so that was good. But because of the semester ending a lot of people moved:( Two of my friends moved out of the neighborhood, and I will miss seeing them around. This is the card I made to wish them well, and to tell them how much I will miss them. I got the cute flags at Joann. The are BASICGREY Hey You! Flags. I wanted to accent with the red a little bit, so I decided to use some DMC floss. Here is step-by-step how I made the stitched circle. 1&2: Use a small hole punch to punch 4 holes out of the circle. Punch close to the edges of the circle. 3: Thread your floss through a wide-mouthed needle. 4: Thread the floss through one of the holes. Tape/adhere the end of the floss to the back of the circle. Then thread to the hole diagonally. I threaded through each hole 3 times to get this thickness. 5: When you get to the thickness you want cut the thread leaving about 1/4 inch left over. Then tape/adhere the remaining to the back of the circle. Voila, you have a cute stitched...

Baby Shower Thank You’s

Baby Shower Thank You’s

My friend Maddi had a baby shower this past weekend and these are the cards I made her. I love the little brown baby! So precious. I used my Cricut to cut out the baby and the bow. They are from the doodlecharms cartridge and I cut them out at 1 inch. I thought this card was fun because there are many different stamps you could use. Besides thank you, it could say congrats, brand new, announcing, baby, or it could be an invite to a baby shower. So many possibilities! Also, I want to share the delicious recipes I made for the shower! Here is the little smokey recipe, and here is the citric acid drink. Hope you are having a fabulous day. I can’t believe it’s already...

Happy Birthday to my Superman!

Happy Birthday to my Superman!

Tomorrow my husband is going to be a quarter of a century!!! He thinks 25 is so old. I was looking through pictures of him from the past year and thought these were pretty darn cute.   As I was looking through the pictures I noticed he wears his Superman shirt A LOT!!! He cracks me up and that’s what I love so much about him. Anyway, I thought I could make him a birthday card that had Superman’s colors and looked like a comic. This is what I came up with: I used Carta Bella’s It’s a Celebration line again! I also found some Coredinations solid colored paper that matched. I cut out the burst and numbers using my Cricut. The burst came from Plantin SchoolBook cartridge, and the numbers came from Sweet Treats cartridge. The awesome cork board star is from Fancy Pants Designs. Happy Birthday to my...

I’m almost an aunt!!!

I’m almost an aunt!!!

A month from today my sister Sharli is due with a sweet baby boy! We are so excited to finally get a boy in our fam (well, besides from our husbands:) ha ha I don’t know who is more excited? My sister, or my mother? I made some thank you cards for her for her baby shower! I thought it would be nice for her to have these handy as everyone started giving her gifts. They are just a little bit different, but both are navy and yellow and use Echo Park’s Dots and Stripes collection. I want to know what you think! Which paper combo do you like...

Go Get Em!

Go Get Em!

It was my little sister Savannah’s state cheer competition this past Saturday. I was so glad that we were able to travel down to Utah to come watch her. I remember how much I loved getting cards of encouragement before dance competitions, so I made Savannah a card:) I had all of the members of the family write in it and everything that was written was so cute and nice.   Here’s the card:   I used paper from My Mind’s Eye Now & Then collection. I also used silver vellum; it worked perfectly in my printer.   Enough about the card Savannah’s cheer team took 2nd in the state!!!! Look at these cute pictures of her and the fam! Another neat thing about Savannah’s cheer team is that they have a girl with Terminal Juvenile Batten Disease on their team. Here is a great article about how special the experience has been for Kennedy and for the Fremont cheer team:...

Wild About You!

Wild About You!

This card is for my hubby, Stuart, for Valentine’s Day! I love the cute monster and thought Stuart would think it was funny:) For the front of the card I cut out the monster using the Cricut and the Wild Card Cartridge. For the inside of the card I actually wrote it with pencil and marker, scanned it, changed the color on my computer, and then printed it. I love the way the hand-lettering turned out. It adds a little “me” to the card! Here it is… Let me know what you think!   Front View   Inside View     Envelope     These are the two papers I used from Bo Bunny’s  Valentine line Head over Heels:...

Big Sister’s Birthday:)

Big Sister’s Birthday:)

My older sister Sharli had a birthday a couple of weeks ago!!! I sent her this cute card with a yummy gift card to Olive Garden.   I found this paper at Porter’s (the local Rexburg Craft Store) and fell in love with it! The paper is from Carta Bella and the line is called “It’s a Celebration!”. Here are the two papers I used:     What do you think? Do you like these colors for...
